He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Benford and Eunice Mae Smith Coggin; his brother Bobby Joe Coggin; and his grandson Ethan Scott Priest Coggin. He is survived by: his children, Scott Coggin (Jessica) and Jennifer Buchanan (Doug); his grandchildren, Mikayla King, Marlin Marble, Alexzandra Coggin, David Coggin, Savannah Coggin, Polito Rojas, Ariana Lucero, Izabella Lucero and Stephanie Lucero; his sister Linda Randle; and his sister-in-law Linda Coggin. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
