He was predeceased by: his parents, Orestus Barnes and Varleria Walley Barnes; his siblings, Harold, Horace, Charles Clinton Barnes and Pauline McDaniel; and his son-in-law Jacky Richardson.
He is survived by: his significant other Elizabeth "Betty" Patterson; his children, Judy Richardson of Nettleton, Melinda Basham (Jeff) of Saltillo, Darrell Barnes (Candi) of Nettleton and Richie Patterson (Andrea) of Arkansas; his grandchildren, Amanda Patterson (Jeremy), Steven Basham (Lisa), Briceson Richardson, Audrianna Doss, Bo Patterson (Baily) and Harley Paden (Timothy); and his siblings, Quinton Lee Barnes (Margaret) of New Chapel, Randy Barnes (Connie) of Nettleton, Wayne Barnes of Nettleton, Peggy Sullivan of Nettleton, Patricia Williams of Wren and Lucille West of Shannon. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
