She was predeceased by: her father Lester Handley; her husband James Melton; and her sister Carolyn Barker. She is survived by: her children, Richard Barclay (Lynette), Jay Barclay (Robyn), James Barclay (Melissa), Rhonda Gatlin (Griff) and Mary Ellen Staggs (Ronnie); and her siblings, Sheila Barker, Shirley Couts, Alice Hosaflook, Mark Handley and Michael David Handley. She is also survived by 11 children, and three great-grandchildren.
