He was predeceased by: his father Kermit Joe Thornton; and his nephew Chase Thornton. He is survived by: his wife Tina Thornton; his children, Mason Thornton (Kate), Dawson Thornton (Caylie), Jaci Thornton, Kandyse Smith (Steven) and Kyce Harris (Shelby); his grandchildren, Colt, Kynlee, Konner, Kyler, Easton, Aubree and Stetson; his mother Mary Ann Thornton; his siblings, Mark Thornton (Michelle), Angie Moss (Robbie) and Corey Thornton; and his nieces and nephews, Logan, Taylor, Kristopher, Ashley, Ramsey, Kinley, Hunter, Ryder, Brenner, Asher, River, Dalee, Lakyn and Kade. He is also survived by other extended family and an untold number of friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church (36020 MS-63, Richton, MS 39476). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
