She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Rushing and Ollie Rushing; her husband Ray Cowart; her sister Margie Rushing; and her daughter Peggy White Jensen.
She is survived by: her brother Ronnie Rushing (Carol Ann); her children, Phil Smith (Pam), Mike Smith (Mark Richardson), Ray Cowart (Lisa), Jan Hancock (Jim) and Sue Whitehead (Raleigh); and her grandchildren, Brad Smith (Windy), Dade Smith (Michaela), Beau White, Amanda Villarreal (Leeroy), Jennifer Poirier (Brandon), Patrick Golden (Katie), Mary Katherine Blanchard (Patrick), Brian Whitehead (Tracy) and Kelli Rodriquez (Matt).
