She was predeceased by: her husband John H. Nix, Sr.; her parents, Dotson Bennett Pickett and Velma Lilian Terry Pickett; her siblings, Grace Roberts, Mildred Laird, Wanzie Smith, Glenn Schmidt and Elton Pickett; and her granddaughter Destin Fitzgerald Currie.
She is survived by: her children, John Nix, Jr. (Karen) of Lafayette, LA., Donna Jean Nix Fitzgerald (Don) of Brandon, MS. and David Glen Nix (Cindy) of Waxahachie, TX; her grandchildren, Angela Jean Athmann (Jim) of Overland Park, KS., Corey Fitzgerald of Brandon, MS, Rosemary Stegall (Brannon), Keith Fitzgerald (Karen) of Madison, MS., Brad Nix (Sarah) of Houston, TX. and John Matthew Nix (Devin) of Pensacola, FL.; her grandson-in-law Lamar Currie of Utica, MS; her great grandchildren, Amelia Fitzgerald of Brandon, MS., Abigail Stegall, James, Natalie, Luke Nix of Houston, TX, Waverly, Trace, McKenna Fitzgerald of Madison, MS., Madyson, John Clayton and Hudson Matthew Nix of Pensacola, FL.; and her sister Martha Gammill of Natchez, MS. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
