She was predeceased by: her parents, Major White, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Ross; her adoptive parents, Willie Ross, Sr. and Sophronia Ross; her son John Anthony Thornburg; and her brothers, Michael John Ross, Glen Ross Watkins, Clifton Ross and Ronnie Ross.
She is survived by: her children, Chris Bates, Marquita Bates and Sierra Bates-Cashwell; her brothers, Vincent Ross and Arthur Ross; her half-brothers, Major, Jr., Charles, David, Willie, Clyde and Robert White; her sister Janice M. Ross; and her half-sisters, Joyce, Judy, Imogene and Laura White. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, one great grandchild, other relatives and friends.
