She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward Hicks, Sr. and Mary Alice Thames Hicks; and her daughter Melissa Lynn Brown Holder. She is survived by: her sons, Walter Jeffrey Brown (Lashon Brown) of Natchez and Patrick Kevin Brown (Lee Carney Brown) of Ridgeland, MS.; her grandchildren, Meghan Little (Trace Little) of Cullman, AL., Jake Holder, Bailey Holder of Madison, MS, Abby Brown Mardis (Chisum Mardis) of Natchez and Faith Anne Brown of Natchez; her great grandchildren, Savannah Little, Shelby Little and Salem Holder; her siblings, Johnny Hicks (Betty Lou Hicks) of Natchez and Jumel Shaidnagle (William Shaidnagle) of Ocean Springs; and her son-in-law Derrick Holder of Madison. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and former classmates.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Basilica. A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, November 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to Cathedral School or any charity of their choice.
