He is survived by: his children, David Earl Smith (Kathleen) of Brandon, Mississippi, Dorothy Smith Ames (Jeff) of Vidalia, Louisiana and Kathleen Smith Rogillio (Mark) of Natchez, Mississippi; his grandchildren, Jacob David Ames (Ashlee), Joan Ames Herring (Nick) and Hunter Mark Rogillio (Virginia); and his great grandchild Lyle Herring.
