James Reece Jones III Obituary

James Reece Jones, III (also known as Trae) passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, with family and friends surrounding him.

Trae was born on January 22, 1981 in Natchez, Mississippi to parents, James "Jimmy" Jones and Joan Hynum Jones. He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Jones, and his sister, Jennifer Louanne Jones.

Survivors include his mother, Joan Jones, his daughter, Lana Reece Jones, and her siblings, Madison and Brock Burgess, all of Natchez, Mississippi and his nephew and wife, Cole and Julia Radzewicz of Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Trae is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Pam and Freddie Sandel of Natchez, Ms., together with many cousins.

Trae enjoyed spending time with family and friends and everything Mississippi State and attended sporting events when he was able. He enjoyed riding in his jeep and fishing with his daughter and NASCAR races with his nephew and friends, traveling, playing pool and riding the backroads. Trae touched many lives with his compassion and generosity for everyone he came across, as he knew no stranger.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation starting at 9am, followed by a Memorial Service for Trae on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10am. Services will be held at Grace Methodist Church in Natchez, Ms.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Grace Methodist Church or the Natchez Adams Co Humane Society.
