He is survived by: his wife Rhelda Easterling; his sons, James Gordon Easterling, Jr. (Susan) and Gregory Neal Easterling (Sue Ann); his siblings, Jean Fortenberry, Joan Gartman and Jeff Easterling (Judy); and his grandchildren, James Gordon "Jay" Easterling, III (Angela), Joseph Quentin Easterling (Jennifer), Amanda Sue Stark (Wylie), Jessica Marie Christoff (Brian), Angela Anne Easterling and Rachael Erin Gaspard (Shane). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
