He was predeceased by: his parents, Muriel Alvis Goldman and Mary Louise Johnston Goldman; his brother Jerry (Betty); his brother-in-law Mike Nethercutt; and his nephew Keith.

He is survived by: his sons, Mathew (Catherine) and Bert (Katie); his grandchildren, Andrew, Kenda Marie, Patrick and Hattie; his siblings, Jimmy (Carolyn), Danny (Pam) and Mary Fae Nethercutt; his stepmother Doris Goldman; and his stepbrothers, Harry (Celia), Bobby (Dianne) and Lamar (Delores Spinks).
