She is survived by: her children, Deborah Page Metcalfe Aiken (George Garland Aiken) of Beaufort, NC, Albert Williams Metcalfe, Jr. (Jennifer Glime Metcalfe) of Charlotte, NC and Susan Coskery Metcalfe Ray (James William Ray) of Charlotte, NC; and her grandchildren, Lauren Paige Aiken of Brooklyn, NY, James Williams Ray, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, Albert Williams Metcalfe, III of Charlotte, NC, George Simmons Aiken of Raleigh, NC, Morgan Metcalfe Ray of Nashville, TN and Joseph Laurens Metcalfe of Atlanta, GA..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Natchez, Preservation Society of Elliott's Hill, the Natchez Cemetery Foundation, The Stew Pot, and the Natchez Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

“Gay was married to my late cousin Albert Williams Metcalfe (1932-2015) for around 60 years. She always was cheerful and a pleasure to talk with (over the phone for the past 8 years). For many years she participated in many of the events that enhanced Natchez, leaving her mark. We will miss her. From her Yankee cousin Bill Brod.”
