She was predeceased by: her mother Ruth Heckard; her husband Charlie Gaines, Jr.; her daughter Chandra Heckard; and her brother Joe Heckard. She is survived by: her children, Elodie Hicks (Timothy B.), Constance Gaines, Alfred Heckard, Darrius K. Gaines and Jaheem T. Gaines; her siblings, James Heckard, Delores Hutchins, Melanie Heckard and Beatrice Green; and her grandchildren, Jamal Hicks, Destinee Hicks, Lonnie Hunt, Arianna Hunt, Joy Emmons, Jennifer Heckard, Ashley of Washington and Khyra Boone. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
