He was predeceased by: his parents, Hilma Matheny and Reverend L. L. Matheny; his former wife Kathy; his siblings, James Matheny, Nancy Matheny Shattuck and Adalee Matheny Haden; his siblings-in-law, Julia Matheny and Milton Haden; and his niece Millee Haden.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Lum Lehmann; his children, James Lehmann Matheny (Anne) and Kathryn Matheny Nutter (Chris); his grandsons, Charles Lehmann Matheny and Charles Christopher Nutter, Jr.; his sister-in-law Helen Lehmann Stanley (Fred); his niece Rachel Stanley Warren; his nephews, Mark Haden, Jacob Stanley and Ches Stanley; and his cousin Gaynell Ainsworth.
