He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Hughey and Elma Carraway Hughey; his son David Hughey; his daughter-in-law Marrisa Hughey; his grandson Daniel Hughey; and his siblings, Linda Hughey Kavanaugh, Margaret Hughey Sewell (Judy), Jerry and Pansy Hughey.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Freeman Hughey; his grandchildren, Matthew Hughey (Amanda Hughey) of Liberty, MS and Katelyn Wallace (Austin Wallace) of Liberty, MS; his great grandchildren, Dakota Wallace of Liberty, MS and Kinzie Hughey of Liberty, MS; and his siblings, James Lester Hughey (Judy Hughey) of Smithdale, MS, Dorothy Hughey Pigott of Friendswood, TX and Patsy Hughey Brock (Bobby Brock) of Hattiesburg, MS. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
