He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Alexander Gray and Mary Anders Gray; his son Gary Layne Gray; and his siblings, Robert, Leroy, David, Margie, Shirley and Helen.
He is survived by: his close friend Virginia Price; his children, Alton Wayne Gray (Donna), Earlene Baker (Billy) and Cynthia Simmons (Bobby); his grandchildren, Dana Cater, Tasha Felter, Caleb Gray, Daniel Burns, Kristi Burchfield, Brandi Mendez and Gary Gray; and his brothers, Clarence Gray and Hubert Gray. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
