He was predeceased by: his wife Jewel Evelyn Hamblin Knighton; his grandparents, Linnie Moorman Gains Bailey, John Frank Moorman, John Knighton and Drusilla Rogers Knighton of Union County; and his great grandchild Collins.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, David (Billie), Denise (Donald), Brian Mindi (Best Friend Stephanie), Corey (Christy) and Daniel (Brittney); his great grandchildren, Lauren (Alex), Alex (Brooklyn), Kennedy, Cameron, Lilly, Brooklyn, Preston, Cohen, Jamie, Hunter, Christopher, Kayla and Payton; and his great great grandchildren, Faith and Remi.
Due to COVID 19 Pandemic the family wanted to put the health of everyone first knowing that so many of James' friends and family would want to pay respect to this wonderful Christian man.
