With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Columbus Laverne Roberts (Mount Olive, Mississippi), who passed away on March 3, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Polly; his parents, Roscoe Roberts and Annie Jane Roberts; and his siblings, Preston Roberts, Lois Stoufer and Hazel Carlisle.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Roberts (Mary), Marilyn Bookout (Rod), David Roberts (Sue) and Mary Ann Simpkins (Monty); his grandchildren, Brian Dossett (Angela), Annie Gundy (Paul), Sarah Skidmore (Josh), Rachel Roberts, David Adams Roberts, Rebekah Warren, Daniel Simpkins (Helen), Mary Lindsey Jackson (Troy) and Mollie Warren (Kit); his stepgrandchildren, Scott Bookout (Day) and Rhonda Rowles (Jim); his great grandchildren, Jillian, Josiah Skidmore, Averie Jane, Olivia, Andrew, Eli Gundy, Monroe, Mills, Polly Simpkins, Huck, Meadow, Archer Warren, June, Lewis Jackson and Hayes Warren; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Taylor, Broc and Colton Bookout; and his sister-in-law Christine Roberts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
Flowers or houseplants may be sent to Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church on Saturday March 9th or donations can be made to French Camp Academy.
