Cannady; his aunt Lillian Martin; his wife Ora Edwards; his children, Trendall Edwards, Spencer Edwards, Brandon Buchanan (Tramenia Bolden), Kathy Woods, Vicky Woods, Rashonda Edwards and Regina Cannady Brown (James Brown) of Columbus, MS; and his cousin Irma Doss. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
