He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Griffin and Minnie Walker Griffin; his brother Forrest Griffin; his son Carl Douglas Griffin; and his grandson Jesse Alan Griffin.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Hood Griffin; his children, Jeanne Whistle (Jerry), Kristi Green (Tommy), Michelle McFerrin (Mike), Joe Griffin (Donna), James van Horne (Amy), David Aikens (Anthony) and Todd van Horne (Amanda); his siblings, Alberta Griffin, Adell Miles (Jimmy) and Tommy Griffin (Joan); and his grandchildren, Keith Boleware (Wendy), Kevin Boleware (Martie), Katie Cox (Wade), Jennifer Stanley, Adam Trahan (Hayley), Courtney Sharlow, Jamie Cowart (Jason), Kelly Griffin (Josh), Josh Griffin (Ashlee), Hannah Griffin, Lilliana, Roxanne van Horne and Sabastian van Horne. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Due Covid-19 concerns, face masks and social distancing are required.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Missionary Fund of Grace Independent Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, MS.
