He was predeceased by: his parent Merl Sally Jones (Stutts); and his siblings, Anita Tolbert, Lisa Jones (Taylor), Timothy Jones and Paul Edward Hammond.
He is survived by: his sons, Brandon Ates Dees and Garret Ates; the mother of his children Brandee Shelatz; his mother Lavania Hammond; his siblings, Randy Dees (Lisa), Robert Dees (Lesa), John H. Hammond Jr., Scottie Hammond, Ashley Hammond (Mary), Melissa Nevin Eubanks, Katherine Hammond Clark, Amanda Roach (Raymond), Heather Carroll (John) and Candice Brooke Hammond; and his close friends, Tawanna Hall and Colby. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Macedonia Cemetery. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
