He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter McVeay and Katie McVeay; his children, Kathy Marlene McMillan and Eric Dale McVeay; and his siblings, Dorothy "Dot" Rouse, Doris Clifford, Walter "Bob", Darryl, Burnett "Cheeka", Dale, Alton, Jim and Larry.
He is survived by: his wife Sheron McVeay of Moss Point, MS; his children, Melanie Renee McVeay, Wanda Faye McVeay, Belinda Joy Clayton, Barry Scott McVeay, Olly Wayne McVeay (Angela), Alton Chance McVeay and Jeremiah Brett McVeay; his stepchildren, Lori Suzanne O'Brien and Robyn Elizabeth Brown (Bryan); and his sister Kay Wheat. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
