She was predeceased by: her father Johnnie V. Thornton; and her sister Bettye Sue Well. She is survived by: her siblings, Bill Thornton and Brenda Glass; her nephews, Jason Glass (Kellye), Jeffrey Thornton (Belenda) and David Thornton (Amber); and her niece Angela Lofton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Holder-Wells & Coastal Funeral Homes and Cremations (12800 MS-613, Moss Point, MS 39563). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 17th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Gibson Cemetery.
In honoring her memory, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter, a cause that was close to Mary's heart.
