We are sad to announce that on July 3, 2020 we had to say goodbye to Louverta Cherry of Moss Point, Mississippi, born in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillian Juliet Galloway and Peter James; her daughter Tara Arita Marie Cherry; her stepfather Jesse Ford, Sr.; and her brothers, Cleo James, Jesse Ford and David Ford.

She is survived by: her children, Lillian "Julie" Cherry, Letitia Cherry-Lee, Gene Cherry, Jr. and Xavier Cherry; her siblings, Irma Ford, Peter K. James and Paul Ford; and her friends, Elaine Sullivan, Juanita Harrison, Fannie Joseph, Antoinette Planer and Marci A. Stallworth. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
