He was predeceased by: his parents, L. B. Hilton and Debra Ann Tate; his wife Tia Tate; his grandparents, Curtis Tate, Mattie Jane Brookshire, Virgie and Lillie Mae Hilton; and his great-aunt Lady B. Fairley.
He is survived by: his son Demario Cain-Tate; his sisters, LaTasha Tate and Etheria Tate-Wheat; his nieces, India Tate, Germany Tate, Yasmeen Wheat, Wheat and Carol Jean; his nephew Bennie L. Nettles Jr.; his great-niece Kelani-Rose Nicole McGee; and his uncle Chauncey Brookshire. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
