He is survived by: his wife Annie Jimmerson Dorsey; his children, Patricia Dorsey-Hunte, Teresia, Chism (Edward) and Joseph Dorsey, Jr. (Lisa); his grandchildren, Tamara Powell, Khadijah Hunter-Dorsey, Lashunda Dorsey, Tyeisha Dorsey, Jamal Dorsey and Joseph Dorsey, III; his siblings, Evia Magee and Char Liddell Alberta Fairley (Herman); and his siblings-in-law, Veronica Thompson-Dorsey and Charles Dorsey (Jessie Ruth Lett). He is also survived by 9 other grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
