He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bryant and Hazel Ovell Jenkins Austin; his wife Patsy Austin; his son Gerald Austin; and his siblings, Hazel Hall, Bryant E Austin, Harold Dean Austin and Thomas Lynn Austin.
He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Bryant Austin, Tommy Joseph Guthrie, Darrell Austin, Sherry Austin Ash, Linda Austin and Donna Kay Austin; his brother Wayne Austin; and his close friend Michelle Williams. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
