He was predeceased by: his parents, James Olen Malone and Verna Lucille Eldridge Malone; and his siblings, John Dabbs, Tom Dabbs, Frank Dabbs, John Malone and Jo Skaggs.

He is survived by: his wife Alisa Myers Malone; his son Jeff Malone; his sisters, Mary Jane Cook (Roger) and Amanda Traywick; and his close friend Carolyn Malone. He is also survived by three step- daughters, seven grandchildren.
