He was predeceased by: his parents, Elgin Verba Sims and Martha Cozene Sims (Ainsworth) of Bay Springs, Mississippi.; his sisters, Kay Shepherd Rowell and Sue Sims Watson; and his son-in-law Darron Haynes (Linda Perry Sims).
He is survived by: his children, Felicia Thomas of Mobile, AL., Angela Haynes (Darron) of Theodore and Phillip Sims of Grand Bay, AL.; his granddaughter Whitney Haynes-Shaw (Logan) of Theodore, AL.; and also Phil.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ridglea Heights Baptist Church (12601 MS-613, Moss Point, MS 39562). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
