Ernestine Hutchins Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernestine Hutchins of Moss Point, Mississippi, who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernestine McIntosh and Ida Bell W. Broadnax; her grandparents, Ernest and Maggie Watson; her husband Ollie Hutchins; her granddaughter Allison Conaway; her great grandchild Alex Conaway; her parents-in-law, George Hutchins, Jr. and Betsy Bias Clark; her brothers, William McIntosh and Herbie Broadnax; and her siblings-in-law, Louis Hutchins, Henry Beard, Sr., Rosie Williams and Pearl Bell.
She is survived by: her children, Rickey Hutchins (Alice), Starlett Stover and Twaya Caples (Derrick); her grandchildren, Rickey Hutchins (Gnay), George Stover, III, Tyana Hutchins and Torrien Hutchins; her great grandchildren, Chloe, Chelsea Conaway, MeKenzie Hutchins and Mercy Evans-Stover; her siblings, Thomas Marx (Clotele), Gwendolyn Beard, Georgette McCorvey (David), Sharon Broadnax of Moss Point, MS, Tonja McIntosh, Pamela McIntosh, Deborah Johnson and Twaya McIntosh of Minneapolis, MN; her uncle Deacon Ernest Watsons (Altha) of Moss Point, MS; her cousin Oveta McIntosh of Durham, NC; her close friends, Edna Earl and Irma Martin of Pascagoula, MS; and her goddaughters, Sabrina Dubose and Autumn Wright. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives.
She received awarded for her numerous contributions to the community which included the Alzheimer Support Group, United Way, AARP, Caregiving Connection Circle, Jackson-George Counties Association of Sickle Cell, Moss Point School District, Pas-Point Exchange Club, the Family Child Center, NAACP Outstanding Community Service, We Care Hospice volunteer, and the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award for MS AARP.
