He was predeceased by: his parents, Lamar Vernon Ehlers and Mena Adel Emerson Ehlers; his siblings, James Ehlers, Robert Ehlers, Meril Brown and Freddy Ehlers; and his siblings-in-law, Zona Ehlers (Mag Ehlers) and Kenneth Peacock.
He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Shaffer Ehlers; his children, Claude Joseph Ehlers, Jr. (Katrina), Stephen Ehlers (Lisa) and Sandra Kay Lancaster (John); his grandchildren, Audrey Houston (Ken), Caleb Ehlers (Stephanie), Alicia Davis, Stephen Ehlers II (Jessica), Whitney Thetford (Daniel) and Ryan Lancaster (Kortney); his great grandchildren, Parker, Noah, Levi Davis, Graham Parker Ehlers, Jaxon, Sadie Rose Thetford, Olivia and Addison Houston; his siblings, Charles Ehlers, Vernon Ehlers (Elaine), Darlene Peacock, William Ehlers and Helen Saxton; and his sister-in-law Jenny Ehlers.
