He was predeceased by: his wife Edith "Merle"; his parents, Daniel Webster (D. W.) and Loberta Scrimpshire (Hutchison); and his siblings, James, Ray, Donald, Billy and Helen Scrimpshire Craft.

He is survived by: his children, Shelia Scrimpshire Vogle, Charles Scrimpshire, Steven Scrimpshire (Steve) and Michael Scrimpshire (Scott); his daughters-in-law, Debbie, Sheila and T. J.; and his siblings, Tommy Lee, David and Linda Scrimpshire Daniels. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.
