He was predeceased by: his mother Lily Sumner (Evers); his wife Bobbie Jennette Cowart of Adel, GA; his father John Sumner; and his siblings, Betty Maddox, Peggy North and Winston.
He is survived by: his children, John Sumner, III (Janice) of Moselle and Candy Weaver (Gates) of Moselle; his grandchildren, Ashley Richardson (Ryan), Amber Mooney (Rodney) and Morgan Sumner; his great grandchildren, Race Robertson, Aria Mooney, Caroline Mooney, Ruth Richardson, Rose Richardson, Beau Richardson, Caplan Sumner, Quinn Sumner and Conan Sumner; and his sisters, Carleen Smith, Carolyn Phillips and Barbara Hall.
