He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Hicks and Lonnie Mae Harper; and his siblings, Molly Macklin, Sara Hicks, John Wesley Hicks and Eddie McNair.
He is survived by: his wife Beverly Hicks; his son Wesley Maurice Hicks (Tamekia) of Pearl, MS.; his stepchildren, Kacinda Terry, Latonya Terry of Morton, MS. and James Terry; his children-in-law, Lachar Donnay Montgomery and Jimmy McCallison; and his siblings, Beverly Serton (William) of Mendenhall, MS., Pauline Hicks, J. W. Hicks and Tony Hicks.
