He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruthie Pealie Carr and James Hardy Evans; his siblings, Hardy Arnell Evans and Audrey Faye Richard; his grandson Robert Oree Evans; and his stepgrandson Dewayne Wicker.
He is survived by: his siblings, Jimmy Evans, Wilma Rigdon and Debbie Coghlan; his children, Linda Wicker (Leonard), Travis Lynn Evans (Shirley), Jerry Evans and James Phipps (Cathy); and his grandchildren, Teresa Sanders (Mike), Jim Smith, Jr., Mike Wicker (JaDonne), Darey Wicker (Heather), Tammy Dahbour (Zach), Travis Bubba Evans, Jessie Evans and Jeremy Evans. He is also survived by twenty-four great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.
