With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Shirley M. Merchant of Morton, Mississippi, born in Scott, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 25, 2025 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Shirley leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Shirley may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her husband George D. Merchant; and her son Doug Merchant. She is survived by: her children, Amy Merchant of Florence, MS, Kirk Merchant of Morton, MS and Karl Merchant of Ocean Springs, MS.; and her grandsons, Hunter Pierce and Matthew Merchant.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Wolf Funeral Services - Morton (3054 US-80, Morton, MS 39117). A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Her contributions to her church and students reflected her commitment to service and education.
