It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James William Simpson of Morton, Mississippi, who passed away on December 10, 2021, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vilas Lamar Simpson and Maybell Everett Simpson; his niece Sherry Sims; and his nephew Joey Tynes. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Shaw Simpson of Morton; his children, Leah Faith Allen of Lexington and William Jay Simpson (Heather Holley) of Brandon; his siblings, Edgar Lamar Simpson (Dagmar) of Coal Bluff, Linda Tynes (Joe) of Brandon, Mallie Raye Parker (Percy) of Morton and Melvin Simpson (Cindy) of Florence; his grandsons, James Haden Allen (Tristan), Luke Jamison Allen, Sawyer Kelley Simpson, William Reed Simpson and Sonny Lewis Simpson; his great grandchildren, Jax Jameson Allen and Beau Maddox Allen; and his stepchildren, Michael Rushing, Paul Rushing and Dory Herrington. He is also survived by 5 step grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
In Lieu of flower, memorials may be made to the Blair E. Batson Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in honor of Reed & Sawyer Simpson.
