She was predeceased by: her parents, Sidney Beatty and Mary Fortenberry Beatty; her daughters, Vanetta McGhee and Beverly Lawson; and her husband C. L. Sumrall.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Meadows and James Sonnengerg (Brenda). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; thirty- nine great grandchildren and twenty great-great grandchildren.
