Sylvia Carpenter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Carpenter of Monticello, Mississippi, born in Crossett, Arkansas, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Sylvia may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Sylvia touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her grandson Aaron; and her parents, John Wesley Farrar and Lillie Dean Farrar. She is survived by: her husband George N. Carpenter Jr. of Monticello, MS; and her children, George W. Carpenter (Kathy) of Ridgeway, SC, Christopher Carpenter of Monticello, MS, Glenda Carpenter Holleyman (Ross) of Millers Creek, NC and Vickie Carpenter Berryhill (Bubba) of Smithdale, MS. She is also survived by 8 grand children and 21 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Monticello Baptist Church (700 E Broad St, Monticello, MS 39654). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
