It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Annie Freeman Townsend of Monticello, Mississippi, who passed away on January 7, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Clarance Freeman and Mary Jewel Higgins Freeman; her husband Glen Townsend; her brother Walter "Sonny" Freeman; her grandson Branson Cole Buchanan; and her great grandchild Stetson Wade Padgett.
She is survived by: her children, Tod Townsend (Jennifer), Deirdre Buchanan (Bubba) and Shawna Padgett (Woody); her siblings, Lynn Freeman (Sandra) of Paragould, AR, C. B. Jones (Juanita) of Dumas, AR, Betty Sue Whitt (Wayne) of Cabot, AR and Ruth Ellen Henderson (Sam) of Heber Springs, AR.; and her grandchildren, Jake Waldrop (Alisha), Hope Gatlin (Eli), Michael Waldrop (Amber), Jade Padgett (Jeffery), Hanna Rippy, Sierra Stephens (Ben), Megan Skinner (Kaleb), Zackary Townsend, Bret Padgett (Demy) and Ryan Welther (Tiffany). She is also survived by other loving family members and friends.
