He was predeceased by: his parents, George Butler and Audelle Butler; and his wife Charlotte Smith Butler. He is survived by: his sons, Jeff Butler and Eric Bulter (Krysten); and his siblings, Pete Butler (Jayedean) and Linda West (Charles). He is also survived by five grandchildren.
