It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean McElroy of Monticello, Mississippi, who passed away on August 6, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Harold McElroy; her son Wade McElroy; her great grandchild Elijah McElroy; her parents, Chester Story and Belle Story; and her siblings, Everett Story, Frances Woodall, Wiley Story, Betty McClendon, Helen Story, Laura Myers and Tommy Story.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne McElroy (Debbie) of Zachary, LA and Brian McElroy of Monticello, MS; her daughter-in-law Gay McElroy of Monticello, MS.; her grandchildren, Douglas McElroy (Jennifer) of Zachary, LA, Randy McElroy (Ellen) of Houston, TX, Patrick McElroy of Pensacola, FL, Morgan McElroy of Monticello, MS and Patricia McElroy of Pensacola, FL.; her great grandchildren, Megan Hart, Jordan Westbrook, Jackson McElroy of Zachary, LA, Sawyer and Sadie McElroy of Houston, TX; and her siblings, Dr. Bob Story of Tuskegee, AL and Annie Lee Cole of Tuskegee, AL..
We would also like to thank the emergency room staff and Dr. Patrick Wood and the COVID unit staff at Lawrence County Hospital for their care during Mom's last days.
