She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius Nelson and Annie Nelson; her brothers, Elwood and Farris Nelson; and her husbands, Earl Smith and Robert Lawrence.
She is survived by: her brother Dwight Nelson (Carla) of Lafayette, LA.; and her sons, Dennie Smith (Janice) of Monticello, Mickey Smith (Sandy) of Crystal Springs and Phillip Smith (Angie) of Monticello. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Monticello Baptist Church (700 E Broad St, Monticello, MS 39654). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery (258 New Zion Rd, Monticello, MS 39654).
