He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Franklin and Bessie Appleton; his child Aughty Jean "Jeannie" Dye Appleton; his wife Betty Green Carr Appleton; his son Jay Appleton; and his grandson Jeremy Tyler Appleton.
He is survived by: his sons, Macel V. Appleton, Jr. (Trina) of Pope, MS and Jimmy D. Appleton (Donna) of Pope, MS; and his sister Jeannie Appleton Hardin of Nesbit, MS.
