With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Doris Britt of Minter City, Mississippi, born in Schlater, Mississippi, who passed away on May 21, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Nokes, Sr. and Mildred Richards Nokes. She is survived by: her children, Larry Lee Britt (Mary Ann) of Oxford and Kathy Fay Britt Jones (Bill) of Natchez; her grandson Larry Lee Britt, II (Anne) of Brentwood, TN; her children, Marjorie Jane Britt (Steven Kilgore) of Philadelphia, MS, Lara Glynn "Lollie" Britt Pilcher (George) of New York, NY, Margaret Caroline Britt Baker (Drew) of Oxford, MS, William Thurston Jones (Nic) of Raymond, MS, Parker Britt Jones of Vicksburg, MS, Tecumseh "Crump" Britt, IV (Melissa) of Glendora, Wilson Peeples Britt (Stella) of Schlater, MS and Mary Key Britt of Greenwood; and her brother William Sidney Nokes (Pat) of Hernando. She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
She even played a part in the COVID-19 recovery by sewing masks for the public.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts in Mrs. Britt's memory be made to Minter City Methodist Church.
