He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Deas and William Cecil Johnson, Sr.; and his sister-in-law Merl Hittson. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Johnson; his children, Dr. William C. "Bill" Johnson, III, Connie Johnson Wegener (Eric), Deas Johnson Schisler and Carol Johnson Moseley (Lee); his grandchildren, Marguerite Johnson, William Johnson, Olivia Johnson and Benjamin Johnson; his children, Dr. Katie Wegener Brown (Turner), Eric Wegener, Jr., Cecil Wegener, Ashley Anne Schisler Hudson (Trey), Mark Schisler, Jr., Cecelia Moseley, Caroline Moseley and Leland Moseley; his great grandchild James Turner Brown, Jr.; his sister Margaret Johnson Bowman; his nieces, Joanne Till and CeCe Coppins; and his grandsons, Eric Wegener, Jr., Cecil Wegener, Mark Schisler, Jr. and Leland Moseley.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Baptist Church of Meridian (701 26th Ave, Meridian, MS 39301). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Mississippi Veterans Cemetery (53 Coastal Plains Rd, Newton, MS 39345).
The Johnson Family suggests memorials be made as donations to First Baptist Church Meridian, MS or to St Jude Children's Hospital in lieu of flowers.
