With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvia Edwina Hitt of Meridian, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 2, 2025 at the age of 85. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Rucker and Suzette Mayo. She is survived by: her children, Eddie Gibson (Suzie), Nena Gibson and Connie Lane (Paul); her grandchildren, Joey Gibson (Dana), Brantley Massey (Corey) and Nathan Gibson; her great grandchildren, Paxton Smith and Corinne Gibson; her sister Norma Guy; her nieces, Suzette Riley and Jerri Ballard; and her nephew Greg Guy.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (9325 Fellowship Rd, Meridian, MS 39305). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 1:45 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery (9325 Fellowship Rd, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (9325 Fellowship Rd, Meridian, MS 39305).
