With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Norma Burnside Davis of Meridian, Mississippi, who passed away on November 30, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Jerrel Davis; her parents, Houston Burnside and Katie Burnside; and her siblings, Evelyn Thames, Ethel Burnside, Ann Burnside, Hoke Burnside, Carter Burnside, Elaine Parrish, Kathleen Davis, Tom Burnside, Claudette Blanton and Felton Bullock.
She is survived by: her children, Debbie Compton (David) of Meridian, MS, Lou Ellen Glafenhein (Glen) of Knoxville, TN, Kay Koch (John) of Williamsburg, VA, Dwain Davis (Mary) of Collinsville, MS and Douglas Davis (Melanie) of Bailey, MS.; her grandchildren, Matthew Compton (Emily) of Baltimore, MD, Elizabeth Holloway (Brett) of Oakland, TN, Joseph Koch (Janae) of Aldie, VA, Anna Kathryn Koch of Richmond, VA, Aaron Glafenhein (Elaine) of Knoxville, TN, Wil Davis Glafenhein (Devon) of Knoxville, TN, John Glafenhein of Knoxville, TN, Christopher Glafenhein of Knoxville, TN, Caroline Owens (Tyler) of Knoxville, TN, Hallie Neal (Dylan) of Brandon, MS, Katie Knight (Jeff) of Metairie, LA, Daniel Davis of Collinsville, MS, Brooke Davis of Hattiesburg, MS, Emily Davis of Tuscaloosa, AL and Kayla Davis of Bailey, MS; her great grandchildren, David Prentiss Compton, Margot, Maddie Clark and Millie Holloway; her grandchildren, Charis, Sarah, Isaac, Lukas, Titus, Kate, Esther Glafenhein, Tylee, Zion Owens, Emma Kay, Caleb Koch, Hugh and Mary Todd Neal; and her sister Patsy Patrick of Birmingham, AL.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 2nd 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home (6300 MS-39, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location.
The Davis Family suggests memorials be made as donations to 15th Avenue Baptist Church Lottie Moon Christmas offering in lieu of flowers.
