She was predeceased by: her parents, James Stegall and Inez Stegall (Bivens); her husband Edward Johnson Mayo; and her siblings, James Wallace Stegall (Evelyn), John Stegall (Barbara) and Nora Lewis (Melvin).
She is survived by: her children, Susan Mayo Duett, Laura Mayo Sermons (Mike) and William David Mayo (Anna); her grandchildren, Wil Duett (Chelly), Logan Mayo, Abigail Sermons and Tanner Sermons; her great grandchildren, Liam and Brynley Duett; and her pets, Lola, Molly and Bama. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 11:15 AM at the Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes (2514 7th St, Meridian, MS 39301). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Magnolia Cemetery (2638 23rd Ave, Meridian, MS 39305).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's honor to the Meridian First Ladies Civitan Club at 7753 Poplar Springs Drive, Meridian, MS 39305.
